Only two months remain until the start of the Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVII. The winter season begins in Bad Gastein, Austria, on December 13, 2025, with the Pro Team Tempo and concludes in Finnsnes, Norway, with the Ski Classics Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja on March 29, 2026. Here’s an overview of what to expect from the upcoming Pro Tour season.
The 2025/2026 Ski Classics Pro Tour will feature 13 events across 9 weekends and six countries, bringing together the world’s best long-distance skiers for another season of endurance, tactics, and passion on snow.

A season opener in the Alps
The season kicks off once again in the breathtaking setting of Bad Gastein, Austria, for an opening weekend full of excitement.
On Saturday, December 13, the Bad Gastein Pro Team Tempo returns to the calendar after a one-year break, followed by the Bad Gastein Criterium on Sunday, December 14, setting the stage for a competitive start before the holiday break.
Switzerland and Italy host the Alpine segment
After Christmas and New Year, the Pro Tour resumes in Switzerland with Engadin La Diagonela on Saturday, January 17, 2026, a 55km race combining altitude and stunning mountain landscapes.
The following weekend, attention turns to Italy for the season’s first Grand Classics event, Marcialonga, on Sunday, January 25—a legendary race from Moena to Cavalese and a cornerstone of the Ski Classics heritage.
Historic moment in the Czech Republic
The circuit then heads northeast to the Czech Republic for a historic milestone: the first-ever sprint competition in Ski Classics history, the Bedřichov Sprint, on Friday, January 30.
Two days later, on Sunday, February 1, the spotlight shines on the second Grand Classics event of the season, Jizerská50, one of the most traditional and beloved long-distance ski races in Central Europe.
Scandinavian segment after the Winter Olympics
Following the February break for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, the Pro Tour continues in Scandinavia with Vasaloppet on Sunday, March 1, the third Grand Classics event and the world’s largest ski race.
Next, the spotlight turns to Orsa Grönklitt, where Ski Classics will make history again with the first-ever 50km Individual Time Trials. The Orsa Grönklitt 50k ITT Women takes place on Saturday, March 7, followed by the Orsa Grönklitt 50k ITT Men on Sunday, March 8.
The Nordic finale
As the season nears its conclusion, the fourth Grand Classics event, Birkebeinerrennet, will be held on Saturday, March 14.
The following weekend, the Pro Tour stays in Norway for Marcialonga Bodø on Saturday, March 21, bringing urban racing and Arctic landscapes into the spotlight.
The grand conclusion takes place in Northern Norway with Reistadløpet on Saturday, March 28, and the Ski Classics Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja on Sunday, March 29, 2026—the 13th and final event of the season, celebrating all Pro Teams and their athletes.
Grand Finale: Open also for recreational skiers
The 2026 edition of the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja will once again be open to up to 250 recreational skiers outside the Pro Team field.
Qualification requires completing at least one Pro Tour race within the winner’s time plus 50% (for the skier’s gender) or two Ski Classics Challengers events within the same time frame. Qualified athletes will receive a Grand Finale coin in their MyPages account, unlocking registration access to the event.
