The first few days of the New Year are already intense with a Ski Classics Challengers event. Vasaloppet China takes place this Sunday, January 4, 2026, in Changchun, China.

Vasaloppet China, the Ski Classics Challengers event in Asia, is taking place on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in Changchun, China, and for another year as a Ski Classics Challengers event.

With a history of more than 20 years, Vasaloppet China attracts around 800 participants each edition, most of them from China but also from abroad. The race is one of the country’s most popular long-distance ski events and is part of the Ski Classics Challengers series.

The main race is 50km in classic technique, but shorter distances of 25km, 6km, 1.5km, and 0.3km are also offered, creating a festive atmosphere in the ski arena surrounded by an impressive snow sculpture park.

The Vasaloppet China Ski Arena is located in Jingyuetan National Forest Park, on the outskirts of Changchun, Jilin Province. The event is part of the city’s annual Snow and Ice Festival, which opens just days before the race.
