The Swiss Pro Team BSV IBEX announced that Andri Schlittler would retire from professional skiing but presented two new Pro Tour skiers on the men’s side.
“Andri Schlittler has sadly retired this spring. After a lot of sicknesses last season, he decided to focus 100% on his education as a teacher,” says Pro Team Director Markus Walser to ProXCskiing.com and continues:
“Of course, we are sad that Andri retired, but we thank him for the past amazing two years we had with him. We welcome the two new athletes to our team, and we are looking forward to tough and nice season preparation.”
Team BSV IBEX finished the Ski Classics Season XII in the 23rd position at the Pro Team Ranking, with 281 points. Two more young Swiss skiers will join the Pro Team for the coming season, Marino Capelli from Davos and Gian Flurin Pfäffli from the Engadin Valley, born in 1996.
“Both athletes were in the Junior and U23 National Team in Switzerland. Gian Flurin could start last winter in the Sprint at Davos World Cup and has some starts at the Junior World Championships. Marino has some starts at World Cup and was also competing in different Junior and U23 World Championships,” says the proud Pro Team Director.
For the women, the Swiss Pro Team informed that they are looking to reinforce their group:
“On the women’s side, we search for a skier who will compete for our team. So, if any female skier is interested, they can contact me,” concludes Markus Walser.
