The Ski Classics Challengers event, Ushuaia Loppet, took place this Sunday with a 42km race in classic technique in Ushuaia, Argentina.
After a snowy day in the southernmost city in the world, the Ski Classics Challengers event saw Victor de Lima Santos, Brasil, and Kaelyn Williams, Duluth Cross Country Ski Club (USA), win the race with solid performances.
In the men’s competition, the winner was Victor de Lima Santos, Brasil, with a total time of 2:29:44. Federico Cichero, Argentina, finished in second place, with a time of 2:55:39, followed by Santiago Burgos, Argentina, with a total time of 3:0012 and completing the podium in the third position.
On the women’s side, just two women finished the race. Kaelyn Williams, Duluth Cross Country Ski Club (USA), with a time of 4:22:09, won ahead of Laura Baldoni (ARG), who finished the race with a total time of 4:48:21.
As Ushuaia Loppet is a Visma Ski Classics Challengers event, Pro Team registered athletes could collect points for the Ski Classics Champion and Youth competitions in their respective gender.
