Due to current Norwegian COVID 19 restrictions, it is with regret that Reistadløpet has to cancel the event 2021. This means that Årefjällsloppet 100 km on March 27th will end Visma Ski Classics Season XI.
“It’s unfortunate with the cancellation of Reistadløpet, but this winter, we have to accept that the season ends with Årefjällsloppet. And what a final event it will be, 100 km and 2500 meters total climb!,” says Visma Ski Classics CEO David Nilsson.
Reistadløpet describes the background to the decision as follows:
“This decision was made based on the authorities’ current restrictions, the country’s general infection situation, conversation with the local infection doctor and dialogue with Visma Ski Classics. Since the date of the cancellation of last year’s race, we have planned and worked hard for this year’s Reistadløpet to be “best ever” - both on and off the track - and we have always been clear that Reistadløpet 2021 should be completed - regardless. Only Covid-19 and the government’s restrictions could stop us, and we have always been clear that we should loyally follow the government’s guidelines and restrictions.”
For recreational skiers, Reistadløpet offers QReistadløpet and VirtuellReistadløpet.
