Skinnarloppet, part of the Ski Classics Challengers series, has officially opened registrations for its 2027 edition.
Held two weeks ahead of Vasaloppet and featuring a similar elevation profile, the 45-kilometer race is considered an ideal tune-up for Sweden’s most iconic long-distance event. Skinnarloppet will take place on Sunday, February 21, 2027, in Malung, Sweden.
Additional events are also open for registration: Skinnarloppsnatten and Lilla Skinnarloppsnatten (Youth) on Friday night, February 19; the shorter Skinnarloppet 21km on Sunday, February 21, 2027; and a combo registration option, Skinnarloppsutmaningen(Combo: Natt+45km).
With a history dating back to 1924, just two years after the first Vasaloppet, Skinnarloppet is one of the oldest ski marathons in Sweden and globally. The 2027 edition will be the 95th in its history, and the second time the event is part of the Ski Classics Challengers calendar.
Registrations opened on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
