Long-distance skiing is blooming in Finland at the moment, and its future looks very bright. This season, a record number of 19 Finnish Pro Skiers will participate in the tour.
There are three Finnish Pro Teams entering Season X in Visma Ski Classics; Team Mäenpää, Team Minken and Team Northern Fish Hätälä. In Finland, Team Mäenpää has been a great example on how to proceed and succeed in Visma Ski Classics with professional expertise and right attitude. In addition to these strong teams, there are individual Finnish athletes in Vltava Fund Team, Skimarathon Team Austria and Russian Winter. The total number of Finnish skiers in the Pro Tour is now 19, which is the record so far. Last season, Ari Luusua was the first Finnish Pro Skier on the podium in Visma Ski Classics with his 3rd place in Jizerska.
In addition to the finnish long-distance skiers, many World Championship and Olympic performers such as Iivo Niskanen, Kerttu Niskanen, Risto-Matti Hakola and Anne Kyllönen have participated in various Visma Ski Classics races.
