Ski Classics

Team Futura GTE Trentino, an Italian Pro Team from Val di Fiemme with a 40-year history, enters Season XVIII with its core intact and a stated goal: to stay in the top 10 of the Pro Team competition. 

The Pro Team grew out of a club of around 100 recreational skiers and calls itself the “Family of Team Futura”. Together with its sponsors, it organizes events in summer and winter and gives young athletes the chance to chase their dreams. Val di Fiemme is also Marcialonga destination: the athletes live and train along the course of the legendary race, which makes it a true home event for the team. 

Last season exceeded expectations. The team produced consistent results from the opening weekend in Bad Gastein onwards and won races at Ski Classics Challengers and Italian national events. Pro Team Director and athlete Riccardo Mich credits this success to a compact, friendly group and the close collaboration with Team Slavia Pojišťovna Robinson Trentino. 

Riccardo Mich, Stefano Mich, Mattia Armellini and Stefano Dal Magro continue in the Italian group, with Emma Ivarsson and Oona Kettunen on the women’s side. Kettunen is shifting her focus from traditional cross-country skiing to Ski Classics. 

Marco Gaudenzio, in the Cubs category, and Julia Kuen join as new signings. Giacomo Ponti has moved to Team Slavia Pojišťovna Robinson Trentino, the team Futura works closely with.
