Team Futura GTE Trentino is an Italian Pro Team with a long and proud history spanning more than four decades. Based in the iconic Val di Fiemme region, the team represents both tradition and progress, combining its deep local roots with an increasingly international outlook.
“We are a team with a history going back 40 years and with 100 amateur skiers,” explains Pro Team Director and Pro Team athlete Riccardo Mich, adding:
“A few years ago, we decided to take part in Ski Classics to compete with the best athletes in the world and be part of this amazing atmosphere. We are based in Val di Fiemme, and most of our Italian athletes live and train in this beautiful valley.”
Over the years, Team Futura has become known for its strong community spirit and broad amateur base. Supported by multiple sponsors and partners, the team calls itself “the Family of Team Futura,” a collective that not only competes but also organizes several events during winter and summer, giving young athletes opportunities to realize their sporting dreams.
The Pro Team has also embraced a more international direction in recent years. “We recently made our team a bit more international by adding two Swedish athletes and two French girls, all very young,” says Mich, and adds:
“Our goal is to reach the top 15 in the Pro Team ranking.”
After finishing 22nd in Season XVI, Team Futura GTE Trentino now enters Ski Classics Season XVII with a blend of experience and youth, representing Italy, Sweden, and France.
The team features nine Pro Team athletes – three women and six men: Emma Ivarsson (1993), Laurie Flochon Joly (1997), Margaux Gaillard (2002), Riccardo Mich (1991), Stefano Mich (1993), Stefano Dal Magro (2000), Klas Nilsson (1986), Mattia Armellini (1997), and Giacomo Ponti (2003).
