Ski Classics

Denmark’s only Pro Team enters its fifth season in Ski Classics, continuing its mission to grow the sport in a country with little long-distance skiing tradition. 

The team started in the winter of 2021, a gathering of the fastest Danes interested in long-distance skiing, after discussions at the national championships the year before revealed a gap: there was no Danish team on the circuit.  

What began as a way to build interest in roller skiing and double poling training has since grown into a broader mission of promoting an active lifestyle and a love of cross-country skiing, especially in places where the sport isn’t yet a favorite. Since debuting in Season XIV (2022/2023), the squad has competed continuously, finishing 26th in the Pro Team standings each of the last two seasons. 

Pro Team Director Joachim Thrane returns for a fifth season, and his own results tell part of the story: he has climbed from #962 in the SC Ranking last season to #164 now, one of the team’s biggest individual jumps. Madelene Halvardsson (#305) and Tobias Dargatz (#227) also return, giving the team a stable core heading into the winter. 

Four new athletes join for Season XVIII: Sjur Lien Sagabråten, Emma Dahlgren, Elin Hamrefors, who competes in the Vet category, and Jevgenija Kolga. Anna Zoltak also arrives, transferring from Team Synnfjell.
