Out of pure passion, the willpower to mobilise as many people as possible and the need to perform in long distance xc ski races, the spark was ignited in 2015 to create the first Austrian cross country ski team competing in long distance races.
The SMTA is more than an ordinary sports team - all its members are eager to spread their passion for cross country skiing. Their primary goal is to motivate especially young people to take up cross country skiing, to revive traditional sporting events and to emphasize the importance of xc skiing in Austria as the winter sports nation.
For the 9th time in a row, the SMTA has achieved Visma Ski Classics Pro Team Status and strives to represent itself successfully in the biggest and most important long distance races in the world. Be a part of it!
