This winter, the Finnish Pro Team returns to the basics. For the last season, they changed their name and united with Nordic Athlete, but they are now back being called Team Mäenpää. There are three Mäenpääs in the team, one returning athlete and two women, of whom one is aiming to be at the Olympcis.
Viktor Mäenpää has been the most successful athlete so far, and his best result comes from Season IX when he finished 15th at Jizerska Padesatka. Last season, La Diagonela’s 28th place turned out to be his greatest achievement. Hannes Mäenpää finished 38th at Marcialonga last winter while Hans Mäenpää’s was injured and hasn’t raced since 2020. Then, his best result was Vasaloppet’s 36th place. He is also the current Guinness World Record holder of 24-hour Nordic skiing.
Christoffer Lindvall hasn’t actively raced since 2019, and his career highlights are Vasaloppet’s 26th place in 2018 and the third place at Red Bull Nordenskiöldsloppet in 2017. Anne Kyllönen is a former National team member who represented Finland at the 2014 Olympics and at five World Championships. She also finished 5th at Ylläs-Levi in 2019. She will participate in some of the Pro Tour events in the latter part of the season. Julia Häger was 11th in the 30 km free technique race at the Finnish National Championships last season.
