As the winter season is over and Visma Ski Classics pro teams and their athletes are preparing themselves for the dryland training season, there are many changes taking places in the team rosters.
The Swedish outfit Lager 157 Ski Team fortifies their ranks as the Ylläs-Levi podium skier Øyvind Moen Fjeld joins them. This is the second time for the team to have a Norwegian skier within their ranks as Audun Laugaland represented them in the 2015-16 season.
Fjeld has been a solid member of Team Ragde Eiendom supporting its Hertz Champion title skiers Tord Asle Gjerdalen and Andreas Nygaard. This season, Fjeld managed to be 4th in Jizerska 50 in the Czech Republic and 8th in the prestigious Vasaloppet in Sweden.
“After four successful and experience-rich years in Ragde Eiendom/Santander, I’m very motivated to join the new team,” Fjeld says enthusiastically. “Lager 157 Ski Team seems to fit me very well, and I’m very keen to find out how far we go with this team.”
Lager 157 Ski Team’s sports director Anton Järnberg is very excited about having the strong Norwegian skier in his squad.
“Øyvind’s capacity and extremely strong skier mentality has impressed me over the years, and I’m very happy to have him as a crucial part of our team. It will be exciting to see what we can do together. He brings a lot experience and quality to us and we’re so lucky to be able to recruit him.”
Lager 157 Ski Team will also continue its partnership with the title sponsor for the sixth year in a row. The team placed 3rd in the pro team competition and Britta Johansson Norgren won the Hertz Champion title while Anton Karlsson snatched the sprint competition victory. The team will have its first training camp in Ulricehamn in the beginning of June.
