On Wednesday morning, many Swedish Pro Team athletes did a training race on roller skis next to one of the Swedish ski tunnels, Gällö - MidSweden365, about 50 km southeast of Östersund.
There is no official result from the training race but both Oskar Kardin, Team Ragde Eiendom and Jenny Larsson, Team Ramudden showed good form and finished first.
The training race went over 48.6 km and Oskar Kardin was back at the finish after about 2 hours.
“A good training competition with fine asphalt on a slightly hilly and undulating road,” says Kardin.
“It was a nice arrangement. I was happy with my effort and had a great workout,” says Larsson.
There were many Pro Team athletes besides Kardin and Larsson, who took the opportunity to do the race.
Among others, the following:
Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team
Hedda Bångman, Team Nordic Athlete
Ida Dahl, Team Ramudden
Laila Kveli, Team Engcon
Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team
Nils Persson, Team Engcon
Max Novak, Team Ramudden.
“The opportunity to combine dryland training with skiing on snow is essential; there we have a real strength at the tunnel,” says Ski Classics legend Jerry Ahrlin (6 victories).
Ahrlin is now involved in the development of training and competition opportunities at the ski tunnel in Gällö.
Ski Classics legend Jerry Ahrlin was the starter for the training race.
