The Swedish ski race Craft Ski Marathon becomes a Visma Ski Classics Challengers event. Craft Ski Marathon is for many Swedish recreational skiers the kick off for the race season, taking place first weekend of January.
The event attracts 600-700 skiers each year with both recreational and Pro Skiers on the starting line. In 2019 the winners were Britta Johansson Norgren and Jens Eriksson.
The course is 21km over 2 laps making a total of 42km in classic technique. The start and finish is at the Grönklitt ski metropolis just 10km away from Mora, famous for the finish of Vasaloppet.
"When we started this event seven years ago, our vision was to create a long-distance race early in the winter season that could offer good conditions for both elite and recreational skiers. The fact we are now connected as a Visma Ski Classics Challengers is an acknowledgment that we achieve the desired recognition. Craft Ski Marathon is a race that suits many different types of skiers and is also very good in terms of calendar and location. And to celebrate Craft Ski Marathon as a Visma Ski Classics Challengers, the event has a special discount offer for registration, just use the discount code VSC20 until October 1st, 2019 and sign up", says Martin Holmstrand, Craft Ski Marathon Race Director.
