The Ski Classics Challengers event Marcia Gran Paradiso is taking place this Sunday, February 4, 2024, in Cogne, Italy, with a shortened 30-km course.
Marcia Gran Paradiso is a long-distance skiing event taking place every year in Cogne, Aosta Valley, Italy.
According to the Local Organizing Committee, due to the snow conditions, the event organizers are reducing the length of the Ski Classics Challengers event to 30km instead of the original 40km course:
“Despite the lack of snow and the enormous effort made in keeping a high level of tracks, we are delighted to be still able to have all the participants participate in the race,” says Claudia Abram from the Organizing Committee.
Since 1975, thanks to the insight of 10 locals who gave recreational and professional skiers the opportunity to enjoy the incredible ski tracks of Aosta Valley. The race goes through stunning landscapes, from sweeping views of the valley and mountains to the narrow passages through the woodland at the bottom of Grand Paradiso Massif, which gives its name to the oldest Italian National Park.
