Les Belles Combes, a Ski Classics Challengers event scheduled to take place in Les Moussières, France, on February 15, 2026, has been canceled due to adverse weather and snow conditions.
Les Belles Combes is a 42km long-distance ski race in classic technique held in the village of Les Moussières, in the middle of the Haut Jura Nature Parc, France. Now, due to adverse weather and snow conditions, it has been canceled for 2026.
The Local Organizing Committee released a notice about the cancellation on their social media channel:
“Cancellation of the 2026 edition of Les Belles Combes
It is with great regret that we must announce the cancellation of the 2026 edition of Les Belles Combes.
Conditions were excellent at the beginning of the week, with a solid snow base that gave hope for good trail conditions despite the forecasted weather. Unfortunately, continuous rain and strong winds over the past few days have made the courses unworkable, despite the significant efforts by the Haut-Jura Saint-Claude intermunicipal authority to secure an alternative course.
Originally scheduled for December and then postponed to the weekend of February 14–15, we tried everything and hoped until the very end to save this edition. We are aware of the need to adapt to continue offering high-quality races in the future, amid increasingly challenging climate conditions. Work is already underway as we reflect on future editions.
We would like to warmly thank our volunteers for their energy and adaptability, as well as the local authorities for their continued support. We also wish to recognize our partners, especially those who have supported us for many years, for their commitment and trust.
To all skiers, we understand your disappointment. The spirit of Les Belles Combes — built on mutual support, pushing one’s limits, and camaraderie — remains intact. We look forward to seeing you again next year to once again enjoy our trails and these shared moments.
Please note that the Luc Vuillet Challenge, originally scheduled to coincide with Les Belles Combes, will now take place at Les Tuffes. For U20 and Senior categories, participants — whether already registered for Les Belles Combes or not — who wish to compete in the regional championship must register via FFSWeb. The registration deadline is Friday at 8:00 p.m.”
