Saturday, August 29, about 2500 runners will attend Jizerska 50 RUN.
By having the start in waves, it’s possible to arrange the event.
“According to restrictions there is a maximum of 1000 people in one place, at one time, for outdoor events , so it means we had do quite a lot of changes for the race,” says Ondřej Brouček.
Jizerska 50 RUN will be arranged with about 2500 runners divided into the following distances: kids, 5km walk, 11km, 22km and 50km.
“The event is part of Behej Lesy Series (run in the forest). We now have quite a lot of experience. The first race was June 6 and Jizerska will be 7th,” says Ondřej Brouček and continues;
“We tried to connect as much sport event organizers in Czechia as possible and a delegation had a meeting with the “hygienic department of government” and set up rules and recommendations for race organizers.”
The main changes are:
- Starting in waves
- Separated start/finish area - entrance only with start bib alone (kids with max one adult), in each zone toilets, etc.
- Disinfection in many places
- No accompanying program like concert, award ceremony (only for kids, for adults online)
- Face masks + hygienic gloves where needed
- Refreshment points - each runner has his own speed cup
- Communication with the local municipality
- Communication: if you don’t feel well, stay home!
- Passive chips (elimination of touching runners)
- cashless as possible
- Wider start corridor
- Moderator repeating rules
