Before the the year is over and the Season X resumes in Seefeld on 11th January, some Visma Ski Classics athletes decided to compete today, 30th December at Romjulsrennet Sjusjøen, Norway. Ingeborg Dahl from Team XNPD finished in second place while on the men's side Stian Hoelgaard from Team Koteng took home the victory trophy.
Romjulsrennet is a 23 kilometers long race held every 30th of December in the beautiful cross country ski area of Sjusjøen. This year, it attracted 481 participants, and some Visma Ski Classics Pro Team athletes were at the top.
On the men's side, Stian Hoelgaard from Team Koteng won the race by beating Vetle Thyli from Team Kaffebryggeriet in a very tight sprint fight. Simen Engebretsen Nordli from Team Parkettpartner Sjusjøen finished 3rd and Øyvind Moen Fjeld from Lager 157 Ski Team was 4th, all finishing with the time of 59 minutes and 50 seconds. Moreover, many other Pro Team athletes finished in the top 10, for exemple Anders Høst from Team Serneke who was 6th and just one second behind the winner. The first six athletes crossing the finish line were within one second.
On the women's side, Ingeborg Dahl from Team XNPD finished 2nd, 1 minute and 56 seconds behind the winner. Margrete Dyrhovd from Team Synnfjell was 3rd. Magdalena Malerhofer from Team XNPD and Martine Korslund were also within the top 10 best female athletes.
It may be almost New Year’s Eve, but Visma Ski Classics Pro Team athletes still compete at the highest level to get in shape for Kaiser Maximilian Lauf in Seefeld.
