According to langrenn.com, Tord Asle Gjerdalen, two-time Hertz Champion and second this season, leaves the Pro Team that the Aukland brothers have led for almost 14 years. The Norwegian Pro Team will focus on getting new female skiers since both Emil Fleten and Thea Krokan Murud are out and build the team around the current Champion Andreas Nygaard and Petter Eliassen, who has two overall victories under his belt as well.
"Tord has been an important contributor to our team and he has been at the forefront of development, for example for poles and equipment. It was a tough choice, but we decided to spearhead the team around Petter and Andreas and we aim to sign two-three new girls who can fight for the podium," Jørgen Aukland, the team manager, says.
The Pro Team's future seems secured as well since they have a good pool of sponsors.
"We are fortunate to have extremely dedicated sponsors. They are really involved, and for them the commitment to the team is much more than just a logo. This means we can continue our efforts with unabated strength with the aim of being the leading long distance ski team. I hope we can find new girls who can join us on that journey," Jørgen continues.
