The Ski Classics Pro Teams are now registered for the upcoming Season XV. Thirty-five Pro Teams have been granted a license for the Ski Classics Season XV, starting in Bad Gastein, Austria, with a double event weekend on December 9 and 10, 2023. We start the Pro Teams presentation with the Exsitec Ski Team.
In anticipation of the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV, the Exsitec Ski Team presented a roster of both emerging talents and experienced Pro Team athletes hailing from Sweden and Norway.
Exsitec Ski Team is a Pro Team founded by the company Exsitec, and according to Sports Director Niclas Hägglund, “the team started as a project in the 2021/2022 season when Visma was the title sponsor of Ski Classics,” with Exsitec being the biggest reseller of their software in the Nordic region.
Last season, the Swedish Pro Team showed that “we are not only a small team in the peloton, but that we also can achieve great results like with Einar Kalland-Olsen being our best skier with great results in his first year of Ski Classics,” says Hägglund and adds:
“This year, we take another step together with Klas Nilsson and have a strong team on the men’s side also with Gabriel Strid.”
Reflecting on their aspirations for Ski Classics Season XV, the Exsitec Ski Team acknowledges that their primary goal is to function together as a team and use their strengths.
“Our ambition is to collect two of the bibs sometime during the season. Einar Kalland-Olsen has shown that he is a strong uphill skier and has his target at the Climb bib. We believe this is also a great way of building his capacity for the coming seasons. Gabriel Strid is an underdog with great potential and will focus primarily on the Sprint bib. He has shown in earlier seasons that he has a great sprint capacity when he takes the opportunity.”
With an eye on the future, this Swedish Pro Team, with seven home-grown athletes and one from Norway, is focused on turning their gained insights into tangible results. As they prepare to hit the snow, the Exsitec Ski Team aims to leave an indelible mark on the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV.
