Visma Ski Classics Season XI kicks off with a thrilling Pro Team Tempo in the beautiful Engadin valley in Switzerland. In the Pro Team Tempo the Pro Teams are offered the chance to present themselves to the global audience and provide their sponsors with valuable exposure.
The Pro Team Tempo race course is 17 km divided by two loops with start and finish at the Golf course Engadin St. Moritz in Zuoz.
The Pro Team Tempo begins with the men starting in blocks, each Pro Team at a time. The starting order is reverse according to the Pro Team ranking of last season and new Pro Teams start first. The gap between the blocks is 3 minutes.
For the men’s part of the Pro Team Tempo, the finishing time of the 3rd ranked male counts for the classification. All Pro Team female athletes start in a pursuit calculated on the total male time, if there are more than one female athlete in a Pro Team, they start together. First skier to cross the finish-line decides the result of the Pro Team Tempo. Minimum 3 skiers per Pro Team must start to receive Pro Team Points.
