The Season IX of the Visma Ski Classics pro tour was full of thrilling action, riveting battles, superior breakaways and suspenseful drama on ski tracks around Europe. Eurosport 2 will broadcast a special highlight program tomorrow, May 9, at 8:30 am CET.
There were 12 unique events in Visma Ski Classics starting in Livigno, Italy, before Christmas and ending in Finland in mid-April where Ylläs-Levi hosted the finale and award ceremony. There were the record number of pro teams registered, 32, and more athletes than ever before participated in various events of the pro tour. There were pro skiers from 14 different countries, and this season also saw the greatest number of women taking part in the tour.
Andreas Nygaard from Team Ragde Eiendom and Britta Johansson Norgren from Lager 157 Ski Team won the Hertz Champion title while Team Koteng managed to dethrone the reigning champion team Ragde Eiendom and take home the Best Pro Team title.
The calendar for the upcoming 10th anniversary season, Season X, will be announced on May 15. The year 2020 promises to be the most exciting and captivating in history, and as always there is something new and fresh in store for the teams, their athletes and fans alike.
