eD system Silvini Team, a Ski Classics Pro Team from the Czech Republic, proudly announces the inclusion of two talented athletes for the upcoming Ski Classics Season XV. Thomas Bing and Laura Stichling are joining their ranks, both hailing from Germany.
Thomas Bing, an experienced German Pro Team athlete and traditional cross-country skier, brings a wealth of expertise to the eD system Silvini Team. Having made significant strides in long-distance races with solid results, Bing’s addition aims to provide a boost of motivation and support to team leader Jiři Pliska, who faced health challenges last season.
The Pro Team anticipates a balanced performance and hopes to benefit from Bing’s valuable insights on training and preparation. Moreover, Bing’s shared passion for mountaineering further enhances his compatibility with the team.
Reflecting on his decision, Bing expresses his enthusiasm for new challenges within the Ski Classics, stating:
“For me, cross-country skiing is the greatest sport that exists. Next season, I will try something new. After a long time competing in the World Cup, now it’s time for new challenges in the Ski Classics.”
Thomas Bing, a former athlete with the xc-ski.de A|N Skimarathon Team, has consistently showcased his skills as one of Germany’s top cross-country skiers in recent years. His notable performances span from sprints to longer distances in traditional skiing, participating in prestigious events such as the World Cup, World Championships, and Winter Olympic Games.
In Ski Classics Season XIV, Bing secured an excellent 3rd place finish at the Bad Gastein Criterium, earning his first Pro Tour podium. Additionally, he demonstrated his competitive form by claiming the 18th position at the Engadin La Diagonela, a testament to his ability to contend against some of the finest Pro Tour athletes.

In addition to Thomas Bing, the eD system Silvini Team also welcomes Laura Stichling, aligning with their commitment to nurturing young athletes and fostering their growth in performance.
Despite the challenges inherent in working with a broader group of primarily young athletes, the team finds fulfillment in witnessing their collective progress. While the team mainly focuses on recruiting athletes from the Czech Republic, the scarcity of local talents has prompted them to expand their search to neighboring countries.
Laura Stichling, a 28-year-old athlete, discovered her passion for cross-country skiing and, specifically, Ski Classics relatively late in her athletic journey, having previously been involved in dog sled racing.
She embraces the opportunity to excel in long-distance skiing and expresses her delight in joining a team that shares her aspirations. Stichling’s achievements include a 25th place finish at the Sumit2Senja, a Ski Classics Pro Tour event, and a commendable 7th place at the König Ludwig Lauf, a Ski Classics Challengers event.
Both Thomas Bing and Laura Stichling, alongside the entire Pro Team, are eagerly preparing for an autumn training camp that includes the 37km Hamrskiroll race.
Moreover, they have marked the Ski Classics Challengers event Energamo Lipnolopet, scheduled for October 7 in Lipno, Czech Republic, as their last dryland race before the winter season.
