Stanislav Řezáč, Slavia Pojišťovna Sport Team, is undoubtedly one of the greatest legends of long-distance skiing and Ski Classics. Now, father Stanislav and son Aleš will compete in the Pro Tour together.
Řezáč has won so many long-distance skiing races that one quickly loses count. Among them are four wins at Birkebeinerrennet, wins at Jizerská Padesátka and König Ludwig Lauf, many great victories in various international long-distance skiing events, twice on the podium at Vasaloppet, and several top-10 positions.
Řezáč is also a member of the Ski Classics Hall of Fame, with 14 stage victories. The 50-year-old Ski Classics legend is still going strong. Last winter, he finished 63rd overall at the Champion competition and showed good summer form, finishing 3rd at the Ski Classics Challengers event Energamo Lipnolopet at the beginning of October.

Now, the Ski Classics Legend will be joined by a very special Pro Team athlete, his son Aleš Řezáč, the third generation of skiers in the family.
Aleš, whose grandfather Stanislav Řezáč Sr. won the Jizerská50 in 1975, will be on the start line in selected events together with his father, including the Grand Classics event Jizerská50 on February 11, 2024.
“I take this season as a start-up season. I would like to get a feel for the Ski Classics series, perform as well as possible, and improve race by race,” said Aleš Řezáč to the Czech Television.
During Summer, Aleš has been racing mountain bikes. From now the focus is on the skis:
“Now I’m going to concentrate on skiing,” he added.
Stanislav keeps strong
Ahead of Ski Classics Season XV and after a solid summer of training, Stanislav Řezáč is already looking ahead to the next season and keeping his sights on top results and the Veteran bib, which, after a close competition during Season XIV, has been awarded to the recently retired Anders Aukland.
“I don’t want to shout anything, but I’m getting better results in training than when I was twenty-five or thirty. It’s because the preparation went well, my health is holding up, and I had a perfectly clear head for training this time,” said Řezáč and added:
“If nothing stops me, I would like to do all the Ski Classics races and finish 25th overall, and if everything comes together, I would like to finish in the top 10 in one of the races. But it will be difficult, the competition is huge,” said Řezáč.
