The Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVI starts this weekend. The winter season kicks off in Bad Gastein, Austria, on December 13, 2024, with the Pro Team Presentation and ends in Finnsnes, Norway, with the Ski Classics Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja on March 30, 2025. The Ski Classics Pro Tour Season XVI is set to captivate ski enthusiasts with its exciting lineup of events. This season, spanning 14 events across 10 event weekends in 6 countries, promises an inspiring showcase of skill, determination, and fierce competition.
Season XVI starts once again in the picturesque setting of Bad Gastein, Austria, offering a thrilling weekend of action. On Friday, December 13, 2024, the season begins with the Pro Team Presentation. On Saturday, December 14, Pro Team athletes will face the challenge of the Bad Gastein ITT event, followed by the Bad Gastein Criterium on Sunday, December 15, concluding the first segment of the season, just before Christmas and New Year.
After a well-deserved break, the Tour resumes in 2025 with another back-to-back event weekend, this time in Südtirol, Italy, and for the first time with events in different locations.
First is the 3 Zinnen Ski-Marathon from Sexten to Niederdorf on Saturday, January 11. Following the resounding success of the previous season and earning a prestigious top 2 spot at the coveted ‘Event of the Season’ award, the 60-kilometer long-distance race once again secures its place within the Ski Classics Pro Tour.
Switzerland takes the spotlight the following weekend with the Engadin La Diagonela on Saturday, January 18. This 55km long-distance race promises breathtaking scenery and intense competition.
Returning to Italy, the first Grand Classics event of Season XVI, Marcialonga, will take place on Sunday, January 26. This marks the conclusion of the Alp segment in the Pro Tour circuit.
The Pro Tour takes a brief two-weekend hiatus before heading northeast to the second Grand Classics event, Jizerská50, on Sunday, February 9. The Czech stage will be the Central/Eastern European segment before heading to Scandinavia.
As the season continues, the last two Grand Classics events, Vasaloppet on Sunday, March 2, celebrating its 101st edition, and Birkebeinerrennet on Saturday, March 15, are set to leave a lasting impression. The final Grand Classics events will be followed by the brand-new Pro Tour event in Norway, Marcialonga Bodø, featuring urban surroundings and breathtaking nature.
To conclude a remarkable season in true splendor, Ski Classics ends the winter with Reistadløpet on Saturday, March 29, and the Ski Classics Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja on Sunday, March 30, 2025. The Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja is the 14th and final event of Season XVI, celebrating all Pro Teams and their dedicated athletes.
