The first three events of the Pro Tour, Season X are now finished. After this weekend's La Venosta there are some changes in the SC Ranking.
Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Eiendom, has climbed two positions and now has the number one spot in the SC ranking in front of the Christmas holiday. His teammate Tord Asle Gjerdalen is still number two, and Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team, dropped from the first spot to number three after her second place at La Venosta.
The points in SC Ranking are calculated based on the percentual time a skier is behind the winning time in his or her respective gender with an exponential drop of points. Each skier includes the results from his or her best 20 races within 24 months.
Behind the top three, we find that yellow bib man Morten Eide Pedersen, Team Kaffebryggeriet, is still in fourth place. Lager 157 Ski Team's Øyvind Moen Fjeld has moved up one step and is now number five. Katerina Smutná, ED System Bauer Team, dropped one place to number six.
The La Venosta winner Ermil Vokuev, Russian Winter Team, climbed from place 56 to number 49. The green bib leader Max Novak, Team Ramudden, climbed from 113 and is now 100th after his impressive fifth place at La Venosta. The young Swede will, of course, continue to have a fast-climbing tempo if he continues to perform the way he started this season.
There are still three women in the top ten. Behind Britta Johansson Norgren and Katerina Smuna, Lina Korsgren, Team Ramudden, holds the ninth spot. La Venosta-winner Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Koteng, is just outside with her 11th place.
The SC Ranking is open for all participants in any Visma Ski Classics race, either Pro Tour or Challengers event, including all age groups, gender and performance levels. The points are calculated based on the percentual time a skier is behind the winning time in his or her respective gender with an exponential drop of points. At a Pro Tour event, the winning man and woman both receive 2.000.000 points, and at a Challenger event, the winners collect 500.000 points.
Each skier can include the results from his or her best 20 races within 24 months, and the best skier, regardless of gender, with the most collected points takes the number one spot in SC Ranking. There are also podium bonus points awarded to the top three skiers in each gender; a Pro Tour event winner gets 200.000 points, 2nd place brings 100.000 points and 3rd place awards 40.000 points.
