Pro Team Director
Lucas JohanssonTeam Edux, the Finnish Pro Team, enters Season XVIII with a new Pro Team Director and a headline signing in Alfred Buskqvist.
Representing Finland with pride, the Pro Team combines competitive ambition with a strong team spirit and aims to inspire the next generation of skiers in Finland.
Six athletes continue from last season: Isac Holmström, Lauri Mannila, Miro Karppanen, Sofia Lindberg, Emmi Lämsä and Cubs skier Ella Noora Haapalehto.
Mannila, who switched from sprint skiing to long-distance racing, led the way in his first full Ski Classics season, with a best result of 12th at the Orsa Grönklitt ITT. He capped the winter with bronze in the 50km at the Finnish Championships in Inari, won the Värnamorullen, a Ski Classics Challenger event, in September, and named winning Vasaloppet as his long-term dream.
Holmström came back from an injury-hit start to finish with a career-best 22nd place at the Grand Finale Summit 2 Senja, and over the summer Lämsä and Haapalehto finished second and third at the Tiera Taivalkoski-Syöte Challenger.
Buskqvist spent the summer without a team after Team Ramudden disbanded. After a call to Holmström, a contract proposal followed the same afternoon, and he now joins Edux with podium finishes as his goal for the new season. The team’s preparations include a high-altitude camp in France in October.
Julia Häger, who has Ski Classics World Championship starts dating back to Season XII, also joins the squad, while Lucas Johansson takes over as Pro Team Director from Olli Tyrväinen.
