The Tiera Taivalkoski–Syöte Challenger, taking place on Sunday, July 5, will bring together some of Finland’s top cross-country skiers as it hosts the Finnish Long-Distance Championships and Ski Classics Challengers event. Registration closes on Monday, June 29.
The men’s elite race at Taivalkoski–Syöte will feature World Championship sprint medalist Lauri Vuorinen, while local favorite Lauri Mannila, representing Taivalkosken Metsä-Veikot, returns to compete after winning a medal in the 50km at the Finnish Championships last winter.
In the women’s elite race, a strong team from AT Ski Team will compete for the Finnish Championship medals, promising an exciting battle for the national title.
The race covers 40 kilometers from Taivalkoski to the summit of Iso-Syöte. The demanding course features approximately 190 meters of total elevation gain, providing a challenging test for elite athletes as well as athletes in the junior and masters categories.
Finnish Championship titles will be awarded in the junior, senior, and masters categories. The event will also be broadcast via live stream.
