We are now well into the month of January and the third installment (the second weekend) of Visma Ski Classics tour will take place in Seefeld in the form of Kaiser Maximilian Lauf, 60 km, this Saturday. As the event is the first real long distance race, it’s time to get your Fantasy pro teams in order. The real action is about to begin, and you should register your team before the race on Saturday if you haven’t done that yet.
You can read about the rules and the name of the game at https://vismaskiclassics.com/news/articles/the-game-is-on-for-your-own-fantasy-pro-team/
In terms of the top pro athletes, Simen Østensen, Team BN Bank, is leading the men’s category with his 1,670 scores while Britta Johansson Norgren, Lager 157 Ski Team, is the number one female skier at the moment (her score 2,100). Simen’s teammates Morten Eide Pedersen (score 1,660) and Øystein Pettersen (score 1,580) are right behind him respectively. Astrid Øyre Slind; Team Koteng, is second in the women’s overall leader board while Jenny Larsson, Team Ramudden, is third.
The leading player aiming at the 500 € prize is Oskar Kardin’s own team Kardins Babes from Sweden while Tourist Skiers from Finland (Mikko Saarnio) are second in the game. Team Lama (Oliver Aukland) and Team Astridos are tied occupying the third place, both players are from Norway and the latter is Astrid’s Fantasy gang.
So, hurry up and get started if you are new to this game or make your selections by midnight the night before the race. And remember that a good strategy can take you far, which means that you should select your skiers with caution and spend some time evaluating your options. Perhaps then, you will be the one wearing the crown as the “Best Fantasy Team Director of the Year” at the gala party in Levi, Finland, on April 13.
