Jiří Pliska, Silvini Madshus Team, prepares uniquely for season XI. He just climbed Europes highest mountain, Mont Blanc, 4,810 m above sea level.
“We hope that this experience will benefit him well in the winter during Visma Ski Classics,” says Marek Pazderský, Pro Team Director, Silvini Madshus Team.
39-year-old Jiří Pliska from Czechia was 19th at Marcialonga and 21th at Jizerská in season X. Now he hopes that the tough climb at Mont Blanc will strengthen him for season XI.
“Climbing Mont Blanc is a dream of many mountaineers. It requires mastering many types of climbing and good orientation skills,” says Pliskas Pro Team Director, Marek Pazderský.
Jiří Pliska high up on Mont Blanc.
“It is one of the longest and most difficult climbing routes in the Alps (4,500 vertical climbed meters), which connects the southern ridge of the Aiguille Noire, the traverse of the Dames Anglaises, the Aiguille Blanche, the Grand Pillar d’Angle to the top of Mont Blanc,” Pazderský continues.
Pliska finished in 19th place at Marcialonga.
