Petter Northug continues his roller-ski escapades as he is also going to race this Sunday when Klarälvsloppet takes place in Karlstad, Sweden. After taking part in a number of the summer's biggest roller-ski competitions, including Blinkfestivalen, Toppidrettsveka and Alliansloppet, Petter is now ready to go to the finale of “the summer season”, the 90-kilometer Klarälvsloppet.
Throughout the summer and fall, Petter has shown a rise in form, and at Kanalrennet two weeks ago he was in the lead group until there was about 10 km left to go. The course in Sweden is flatter than in Telemark, but the competition there is much harder. Northug gets to face some long distance heroes like Andreas Nygaard, Max Novak, Stian Hoelgaard, Kasper Stadaas and Johannes Eklöf, to name a few.
Petter will race for his Team Northug, but he will collaborate with Petter and Åge Skinstad from Team Coop. Petter Skinstad will participate in the race while Åge will be a serviceman and follow the race by bike.
