As we wrote the other day, many of the Visma Ski Classics Pro Teams are looking for warmer latitudes in Southern Europe at this time of the year to be able to do roller ski training on nice roads.
However, Swedish Lager 157 Ski Team has found a good alternative at home in Sweden. With a base in Båstad, located in Sweden's southernmost province of Skåne, they now have a training camp for the third year in a row.
“We enjoy it very well here. There is a large road network with nice roads without much traffic. Båstad is also located at the foot of Hallansåsen which gives us close to 200 meters of altitude,” says team manager Anton Järnberg.
What is your focus during this training camp?
“We want to keep good pressure in training now at the end of the dryland training period. It's about having a week with a lot of basic training,” says Järnberg.
How is the weather?
“It is not so warm this year but still 10-15 degrees. I think it´s a perfect training weather.”
Joining the camp are everybody in the team except last winter's winner of the sprint vest, Anton Karlsson: Britta Johansson Norgren, Elin Mohlin, Emil Persson, Andreas Holmberg, Marcus Johansson, and Øyvind Moen Fjeld.
For Anton Karlsson, who has a spinal disc herniation, his rehab training is in full swing. We will come back with an interview with Anton. Stay tuned for that!
