After Kaiser Maximilian Lauf in Seefeld this Saturday, there have been lots of changes in the SC Ranking, the first seven Pro Team Athletes remain the same.
Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Eiendom, second behind Emil Persson this Saturday, is still number one and now with 40,141,425 points. His teammate Tord Asle Gjerdalen is second with 39,568,368 points and Britta Johansson Norgren has 39,344,795 points and holds the third spot.
Because every athlete counts his or her best 20 races within 24 months, there can be changes in the ranking that may not seem so logical. For example, Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Koteng, third at Kaiser Maximilian Lauf this Saturday, moved from 11th to 8th but outstanding winner Lina Korsgren dropped one spot from 9th to 10th. Between them is Tore Bjørseth Berdal, dropping from 8th to 9th.
In the top 20, there are some more changes. Alexis Jeannerod, Ed System Bauer Team, climbed from 18th to 14th. Andreas Holmberg, Lager 157 Ski Team, took one step up to 15th. Anders Aukland, Team Ragde Eiendom, has not participated in the last two races and therefore dropped from 15th to 18th. Simen Engebretsen Nordli, Team ParkettPartner Sjusjøen, takes a big step from 27th to 20th.There are a lot of more changes in the top 100 after Kaiser Maximilian Lauf. Here are some examples of selected notable climbs:
Men's winner Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team (39 to 34), Ari Luusa, Vltava Fund Ski Team (42 to 36), Klas Nilsson, Team Igne (40 to 37), Francesco Ferrari, Sottozero Zorzi Max - Orsaiec took a big step (68 to 55), a big step also for Vaclav Sedlacek, Silvini Madshus Team (80 to 68).
Max Novak, Team Ramudden, who does his first full season in the Visma Ski Classics Pro Tour, has had an impressive start of the season. He is second in the Youth Competition and third in the battle of the Sprint West. In the SC Ranking, he moved from 100th to 88th after his 7th place this Saturday.

The SC Ranking is open for all participants in any Visma Ski Classics race, either Pro Tour or Challengers event, including all age groups, gender and performance levels. The points are calculated based on the percentual time a skier is behind the winning time in his or her respective gender with an exponential drop of points. At a Pro Tour event, the winning man and woman both receive 2.000.000 points, and at a Challenger event, the winners collect 500.000 points.
Each skier can include the results from his or her best 20 races within 24 months, and the best skier, regardless of gender, with the most collected points takes the number one spot in SC Ranking. There are also podium bonus points awarded to the top three skiers in each gender; a Pro Tour event winner gets 200.000 points, 2nd place brings 100.000 points and 3rd place awards 40.000 points.
