The Visma Ski Classics Challengers event Trysil Skimaraton is a 42km long-distance race in classic technique this Saturday, February 19, in Østby, Norway.
Trysil Skimaraton is a long-distance cross-country skiing race that has been organized for more than two decades with excellent tracks and a unique atmosphere. The event takes place in Østby, Trysil, in the eastern part of Norway, close to the Swedish border.
The competition traverses forest areas, countryside, and mountain terrain, with approximately 500 skiers taking part in the 42km long-distance race in classic technique, part of the Visma Ski Classics Challengers circuit.
Trysil Skimaraton welcomes Pro Tour and recreational skiers to the start line, and a good atmosphere is expected on the tracks, both for the 42km and the shorter 21km race.
“We have very good snow and trail conditions now. There has been a lot of snow the last couple of weeks, and the trail manager reports perfect trail conditions,” says Event Manager Per Ola Haugen.
Good to remember that the competition is also a seeding race for Vasaloppet and Birkebeinerrennet. The last day for Trysil Skimaraton registration is tomorrow, Wednesday, February 16.
