Team Nordic Athlete presents a new addition to their team, 25-year-old Hedda Bångman. After 3 years of studying in the USA at the University of Colorado Boulder, she returns to Sweden and will focus on Visma Ski Classics.
"I am incredibly inspired and motivated to go all in and see how good I can get in long distance skiing. At the same time, I am humbled by the task and I know that it will require hard work," Hedda says.
Hedda was a great youth and junior talent and made her World Cup debut as a 20-year-old. After some setbacks, she moved to the United States to study and continued her training at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Over the years in the US, Hedda has made several excellent results. Among other things, she became an American champion in 20 km classic mass start in 2018.
However, now she has Visma Ski Classics as her priority, and she becomes a teammate with Linn Sömskar, who was recently presented as a member of the new Finnish Pro Team, Team Nordic Athlete.
"I've been thinking about long distance skiing for a while now and when I was welcomed by Nordic Athlete I just felt, Yes! What fun this is going to be," she states.
"I am convinced that Team Nordic Athlete can provide me with the conditions needed to reach my full potential. One of the team's core values is to have a good team spirit and to help each other which I believe is an important key to success," she continues.
Bångman arrives to Sweden around June 12 and will join the Pro Team's first training camp at Idre Fjäll.
