We continue with the event presentation of season XI with Årefjällsloppet. The new 100-kilometer race takes place March 27th. In the two coming days we will present the remaining season XI Pro Tour events.
Årefjällsloppet was part of Visma Ski Classics Seasons III-VII and became last season a Challengers event. The event is now back in the Pro Tour with a new course of 100 km, the longest distance so far in Visma Ski Classics’ history! The distance is created for the elite skiers but also qualified recreational skiers are welcome to join, up to 500 participants. Årefjällsloppets’ new course has start and finish in Vålådalen and includes two Sprint and two Climb positions.
Vålådalen is a mountain station and formerly Swedish Tourist Association’s largest base in the mountains. Årefjällsloppet course takes place in areas with lovely views and surroundings. During the race, participants have the chance to get many great nature experiences:
If you are lucky, you can see both moose and reindeer crossing the track.
Årefjällsloppet offers different events for recreational skiers with the main event 55 km that is part of Visma Ski Classics Challengers.
